When the news broke last year that natural hair colors were in high demand for men, a flurry of products was launched to help you get your natural hair look.
The latest to hit the market is the new shampoo and conditioner called Mermaid Hair, which promises to give you the perfect amount of natural hair color to match your body.
“I have been using the product for about two weeks now and I feel great!
It is just perfect for me and I have not had any side effects,” said Rachel, a 26-year-old business owner in Los Angeles.
“The shampoo and the conditioner are my go-to products for this reason.”
The shampoo, made with water and coconut oil, is a mix of coconut oil and aloe vera, which is also known as jojoba.
“It helps keep your hair healthy, but the conditioners also have a calming effect, and it helps you to have a more radiant appearance,” said co-founder Jessica E. “They’re not meant to be an acne treatment, but they’re meant to do that,” she added.
The shampoo is the only product that contains natural ingredients, and is available in four different shades of green.
The products contain 100 percent natural ingredients.
“You can feel the difference,” said Eileen, who added that she’s been using Mermaid Hair for three months.
“My skin has never felt better in my life.”
Mermaid Hair is now available at Whole Foods Market, Target, Nordstrom, Nordline, Ulta, and Sephora.
It costs $19.99 for a full bottle, or $24.99 per bottle with a three-pack of 10.
“There is definitely a buzz about natural hair in the U.S.,” said E-Wagen, a hair stylist who runs the blog, Natural Hair Today.
“Natural hair is not as prevalent in the United States as it is in Europe, but we’re seeing more and more people buying natural hair products.”
The product was inspired by the trend for natural hair dye and styling products.
“If you look at the trend that started around the ’80s with natural hair, the first product to come out of that was the shampoo,” Eileen said.
“Then, when the trend took off, people were like, ‘I want my hair to look like this,’ so they started looking for natural products.
People were looking for something that would work with their hair, and the natural products have been the best.”
Eileen explained that the goal of Mermaid Hair was to “make the natural hair product market more sustainable and fair.”
“If there was a natural product out there, there would be more of it.
I wanted to bring something that is affordable, natural, and not the same thing as something made by a big company,” she said.
According to Eileen and the company, Mermaid Hair has been a hit with women, with customers saying they feel more confident, and that they’ve noticed a positive change in their hair appearance.
“We are constantly seeing customers who have seen their natural hair and say, ‘This feels so much better than my normal natural hair,'” Eileen added.
“Most of the customers we have seen are very happy with the results.”
E-wagen and her team believe Mermaid Hair could be a hit for other beauty brands as well.
“Our customers are finding the natural shampoo and conditioning product to be so soothing,” E-wife, who works at the Hairline Foundation, said.
But Eileen also pointed out that Mermaid Hair’s formula is not only affordable, but it has also been tested in the lab, which shows that it works for the hair.
“When we tested it on our customers, they were like the first time they tried it,” she noted.
“So I think that’s what we’re trying to do is really make sure that the product is safe and effective.”
Mermaid hair products have come a long way from their original formulation, and now the company has expanded its reach.
“Since we launched Mermaid Hair in 2015, we’ve seen a massive increase in sales and customer demand,” Ewegen said.
And Mermaid Hair seems to be gaining traction with women all over the country.
“Some of the women that we’ve had at our salon have said that they would recommend the product,” Ewa Ewegene, the founder of the Hair Line Foundation, explained.
“Mermaid Hair is definitely the best thing we’ve ever sold.”
Ewegan also said Mermaid Hair products are currently sold at Whole Market, Macy’s, Target and Walgreens.
